I was originally interested in Habitat several years ago as something my family could be a part of. Unfortunately, at the time there were no homes being built in the area. I did and still am on the Newsletter List and receive it regularly. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of having lunch with a friend and the need for more members was mentioned to me. Of course I was very interested and met with Alexis regarding the position of Family Selection Chair, which I am thrilled to now be a part of. I was and still am very very excited to be a part of Habitat.

I have always been very active in the community as a volunteer and giving back is what makes it all worthwhile. What a feeling to be part of a board that works with a family/ies to make a dream a reality; to know at the end of a project that as part of a team, you have done a "Great Job". I am so fortunate in my life, to be able to show my kids what it is like to give of oneself, and how self rewarding it is.

I am originally from Sydney (Cape Breton-God's Country), even though I have been in Halifax for more than half of my life, there is still great comfort in calling Sydney "Home" I am married, and the very proud mom of 3 Great kids, My son RJ is 16, My daughters Olivia and Julia are 11 (twins). They are my pride and joy. I spent the majority of my life in Hospitality and enjoyed every minute of it. After venturing into other areas, I made the life changing and very scary decision to start my own business "Unicorn Concierge". It has been a challenging and rewarding experiencing. Along the way, I always managed to have the time to be involved in things that needed to be done, whether it was for my my kids, fundraising, event planning, etc. When it something I believe in, I am very passionate. I am truly honored to be considered as a member of this board, and look forward to being able to contribute to its success.
