Testimonials
We are very fortunate to have received generous donations
from many local companies and organizations. Habitat for Humanity HRM relies on our partnerships with donors, volunteers,
and sponsors. Exciting partnership and sponsorship opportunities exist
for every donor.
Thanks to these groups, families in need are able to escape the grip of
poverty and move into their first homes. Children’s lives are improved
by a safe, stable environment, and neighborhoods are revitalized. We
give thanks to their generosity!

Adopt-A-Day Testimonials
For CB Richard Ellis, working with Habitat
for Humanity has been a very positive experience on many levels. Giving
back to our community in this way is especially rewarding to us as a
group and on an individual basis. Raising money and going on-site to
help build a home was an excellent team-building exercise. It was an
opportunity to share a few laughs, learn some new skills, and work with
the people who make Habitat the success that it is. We are really
looking forward to going on-site again this year, knowing that our small
part will enrich the lives of a family in need.

On behalf of everybody here at Global
Maritimes, I just wanted to extend a hearty thank you for a great day!
Although Global Maritimes has supported and sponsored Habitat HRM for
some time, this summer was our first ever Build Day. Over 30 Global
Maritimes employees took a day away from the office to swing a hammer,
handle a saw, carry lumber—whatever needed to be done!
Response has been overwhelmingly positive. On a personal note, while I
had a few aching muscles the next morning, I thoroughly enjoyed the day
out of the office, helping such a great cause.
I’m looking forward to next year!

Alexis Ashworth
Executive Director
Dear Alexis,
Thanks so much to you and your staff for another very successful
volunteer build. 2006 was the second year Manulife Financial sponsored a
Habitat for Humanity home for a local family in Halifax-Dartmouth and,
once again, we were very pleased with the partnership.
This year, about 100 of our Halifax employees volunteered and had an
opportunity to provide feedback to us in a post-build survey. You'll be
happy to know the survey results were overwhelmingly positive. Here are
some survey highlights:
- 100% of our volunteers rated the Habitat for Humanity experience
highly and 100% said they'd participate in another build
- Almost 90% agreed the Habitat for Humanity build increased their sense
of pride in working for Manulife
- Almost 90% rated highly the volunteer experience as an employee
team-building activity
- Some comments received from participants:
"It's an awesome experience to help out in the community. It gives you a
good feeling and a lot of pride."
"This was my second year with the build. Everyone on the site was
excellent to work with. This is an amazing opportunity to give back to
our community and help those in need."
"I'd like to thank Manulife for being involved in a project such as
Habitat for Humanity. I truly enjoyed the experience and hope Manulife
participates in future builds. Manulife allowing their employees to
volunteer for a day during work hours shows a great commitment to the
community. Thanks!"
We look forward to working with you and your team again on a future
build.
Sincerely,
Judy Blastutti
